How we are dealing with VAT on digital products, within the EU
VAT on Digital Products within the EU
You may have read about the changes to the way that VAT (Value Added
Tax) is applied to digital products (including knitting and crochet
patterns) for sales within the EU. From 1 January 2015, VAT will be paid
in the customer's country, rather than than in the country supplying
the product (the UK for The Yarn Cafe). Further details are available here.
To
ensure that we can still supply digital patterns to all customers
(whether or not they are in the EU), we have decided to voluntarily
register for VAT.
What does this mean to customers?
There will be no change of service (with patterns available for all
customers). The price for digital patterns will be inclusive of VAT.
