Coronavirus (COVID-19) and postage of orders
On
23 March 2020, the UK Government issued instructions to halt the spread
of the Coronavirus in the UK. These included the requirement to stay at
home, only go shopping for essentials (about once a week), leave the
home for a medical need, work from home where possible, and take one
form of exercise outdoors per day (maintaining social distancing).
Essentially the UK is on lockdown for the next 3 weeks. Further details
are here.
Guidance has been issued about the closure of certain physical premises but it has stated that " Online retail is still open and encouraged and postal and delivery service will run as normal" (more details here) .
Except for attending yarn shows, we operate solely online and have been
considering options for having our online shop open, whilst supporting
the need to stay at home and reduce the burden on the Post Office and
distributors. We have decided to send out orders once a week, and as
part our exercise routine (whilst we are well). We will also consider
types of postage that minimise our contact with others (such as the
Royal Mail Drop and Go service) until we receive further Government
instruction.
Cancellation of yarn shows
Unfortunately
a number of shows that we were due to attend this year have been
cancelled and we are awaiting details of the Yarndale show. The
cancelled shows are:
- Wonderwool Wales (25 and 26 April 2020)
- Rugby Yarn and Craft Festival (24 May 2020)
- Yarningham (11 and 12 July 2020)
- Fibre East (25 and 26 July 2020).
We are hoping to attend these shows next year, but will have some special offers for you around show time.
Take care
Thanks for all of your support. We live in
uncertain and troubling times at present and crafting can help to ease
anxiety. Look after yourselves and others!
Take care,
Tracie and Simon
